news Social Vision are the first to Sponsor a Move Zone Social Vision are our first Sponsor Local social enterprise, Social Vision, the people behind the recent Malthouse pop-up and the fortnightly Social Vision News, have become the first company to sponsor a Move Zone. At Move the Masses we advertise and promote the locations of local outdoor gym facilities so that people can easily see where they can exercise outdoors, for free. We call these locations Move Zones, and we've run free, pop-up fitness sessions at several Move Zones across the city for over 250 people. We also organise community filming sessions where people can come along, learn some exercises and help us create simple video resources for others to use in the future. Social Vision recognised the work we were doing to make exercise truly accessible for everyone in York and that this is a key factor to improving happiness and wellbeing in the city. Joe Gardham of Social Vision said: I’ve been supporting Move the Masses since inception and love the idea of people across York getting access to free exercise and mobility sessions regardless of age, ability or fitness level. An active body is so important for mental health and wellbeing, and cost, time and location are often barriers to people looking after themselves. I’m therefore delighted to be the first organisation in York to sponsor a Move Zone, and encourage other organisations across the city to get involved and support this worthy cause. If you want to show your support for our work, and get your organisation’s name out and about in the community, you can sponsor a Move Zone here. You can also support us by making a one-off or regular donation really easily by clicking the Donate Button! Any money we raise helps support our basic running costs, including running our website and providing resources to our volunteers.
