Move the Masses partner with York Mind to provide wellbeing workouts

Move the Masses are delighted to be working in partnership with York Mind as part of this year's Mental Health and Wellbeing Activities Programme; a three year strategy of mental health provision funded by City of York Council.

After a successful summer programme in 2019, we'll be kicking off the spring edition on 24th February, with sessions running through to the end of June.

These sessions are free pop-up workouts to teach people how to exercise in their local open space without the need for any additional equipment, and form part of the wellbeing side of the programme.

Here at Move the Masses, we know that physical activity helps to manage stress, low mood, anxiety and depression. It also helps with cardiovascular health, improving muscle tone and prevents the onset of many diseases and health conditions. We love getting people moving and we want everyone to love moving too!

Sessions will run on Mondays and Wednesdays at 2pm (excluding school holidays) and are free of charge. Participants will need to enrol through York Mind, or can complete an enrolment form before the session.

Our sessions are for all ability levels and have an informal and fun feel. You can do as much or as little as you like or you can just come along and observe. We also have online videos so participants can view workouts for guidance and inspiration.

The sessions are all available to view on our events page, so get yourself signed up and come and get moving with us!
