Meet Billie, our new Comms Officer at Move the Masses

Billie moved to York just over a year ago to do a Master's in Women's Studies. Prior to that she had completed a degree in Communications down in Falmouth on the south coast.

Having done some Communications volunteering for a charity before, when the job at Move the Masses was advertised she thought her dream had come true. The ability to mix her love of creative story telling, with her passion for all things charity, held a huge appeal for her.

Billie's first week has been really enjoyable, getting to know the team, establishing a new routine and discussing fun ideas.

She is already involved in improving our newsletters, assessing our website analytics and is particularly excited to be telling volunteer stories, sharing the good people are doing, over our social media channels.

A talented creative as well, Billie has lots of good ideas on how to visually tell our stories along with her compelling words.

When she doesn't have her Comms hat on, Billie loves to play handball and being from Bolton and 'the bottom of the Pennines' she is also a keen walker. Sounds good to us!

Her and her boyfriend are getting to know the more local Moors and enjoying that very much too.

But Billie doesn't know every nook and cranny of York yet, she wonders if our volunteers might take some selfies, and snaps of the areas they are walking in, and send them in to her at [email protected], so she can get to know everyone and our lovely city too.

And Billie would love to see you all engaging in our social media content - @MTMcharity - hash tagging #MoveMates #MovetheMasses #YorkCharity #YorkCommunity #Volunteer #OutdoorFitness. All the link are below:
